2013 GMC Sierra Pre-Install Questions: Maestro to AVH-2300nex

Post by TheFoosers » Wed Jan 02, 2019 10:56 pm

Let me start off by saying I APOLOGIZE in advance if my questions have been answered multiple times! I know how annoying this can be.

I am preparing to install a Pioneer AVH-2300NEX in a 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 w/o factory nav no amp using Maestro RR & GM5+.

1. For my application, am I going to retain my factory Bluetooth Mic or do I have to use the one provided by Pioneer?

2. What does the cable from the Maestro RR to the AUX input on the Pioneer control?

3. Part of question 2: Can I use a AUX splitter? Would love to have a available dash mounted AUX port if possible.

Any help would be appreciated.

1. Yes, the factory bluetooth will be retained if you pair to the OEM bluetooth through OnStar. However, if you want to use the Pioneer bluetooth or any of the Pioneer's features (car play, etc), you would need to install the supplied microphone.

2. The audio cable is the sound for OEM Satellite radio, turn signal clicks, and OnStar.

3. You could but it may compromise your sound quality. I would recommend using the AV input of the radio for your dash mounted aux.
