22012 Chevy 2500HD LTZ w/Gm5+ and JVC KW-M730BT

Post by Warlock1 » Fri Dec 28, 2018 5:25 pm

I have the BU camera in mirror and Bose 6 speaker non nav radio.
I also have a factory amplifier.
I am prepping everything for install but had a few questions before I started.

I purchased a higher res camera that will fit into the stock location and a 30 foot cable. If I run this straight from the camera to the radio input cable will that cause any issues or delete any benefits to running it to the brown plug with the camera input on it?

I have a JL Audio 800/8 Amp that I will be using to power the new door speakers and the new subs. I am going to run the RCA cables from the radio straight to the Amp and attach all the speakers to the AMP. Will that cause an issue with anything?

What do I do with the Yellow w/blk tracer wire and pink wire?

Thank you

The aftermarket camera won't interfere with the one in the mirror; they will operate separately.

Yellow/Black isn't used with this radio.

As for the amp, make sure you have flashed the RR to NOT retain OEM amp. Past that, you must completely bypass the OEM amplifier or you won't be able to hear onstar, door chimes, turn signal clicks, etc. Once the amp is bypassed, you can wire the new amplifier however you like.

What about the pink wire?
I'm pretty sure that I flashed the RR without the factory Amp, but now I am questioning myself. Is there a way to tell?
What do you mean by completely bypassing the factory amp? Is this as simple as just unplugging it or is there wiring that needs to be done?

There is nowhere to connect the pink wire, because JVC does not have a VSS. So don't hook it up.

I just checked, and you did uncheck amplifier during the flash.

You can unplug the amp, but you must also wire around it somehow. Either hook the outputs of the new amp to the output side of the amp harness, or hook them up directly at the speakers. Your choice.
