Ford Focus has 2 antenna inputs Pioneer only 1

Post by p40whk » Sun Dec 09, 2018 12:05 pm

My original ford focus factory radio has two antenna inputs (one tan the other black) however there is only one antenna input for most aftermarket radios especially the Pioneer AVH-2330-NEX I'm installing.

What are the two used for? Is one a Cell antenna and one AM/FM? Not sure which one to hook up to the new radio.

Any help would be appreciated.

One might be for the OEM satellite radio. If you plug in the wrong one, you won't have any FM reception. I suspect your FM antenna is the black one; Worst case, hook one up and test it before you fully reassemble everything. If you have no FM reception, you know you need to use the other plug.

Thanks Dara,

I plugged in the black one and did have FM reception. I had forgotten that I had Satellite when I purchased the vehicle and had let it expire so you are right in that the other is probably for that.

Thank you for the quick reply.
