2008 Jeep WK
I am installing an RR with CH1 into my jeep, i am seeing conflicting advice on what to do if i have a factory amp. on the installation videos it is saying to hook up white to green if i do have a factory amp, and green to green without, but the manual that comes with the CH1 says the opposite.
so my question, i have the factory Boston acoustic amp and speakers. what do i do with the green and white connectors...

With a factory amplifier, you would have the connectors green to green, and white to white.

Re: 2008 Jeep WK
another question, i have got all the wires hooked up, 2 things are not working right so far. 1. when you turn key off but don't open doors the factory radio stays on until you exit. i rally like that. the RR shuts down radio as soon as key is off.
the other is not related to your product, kenwood dmx905s only outputs 7 volts to backup cam?

check in the EVIC (the display in your instrument cluster) and there should be a setting for Retained Power. You can set it for different times to keep the radio on, check to see if somehow that got set to 0 (which would turn the radio off when the key is turned off).

Not there, and when i put the factory radio in again it works as intended, but set up the kenwood/maestro again and turn the key off it shuts head unit off right away.

Re: 2008 Jeep WK
ok, so let's do this: I pushed you a rolled back version of the Jeep firmware just as a test to see if the RAP works again. SO pull the RR out and connect it to the computer and flash it again but this time you want to go to the tab above that says "Flash by user firmware". there you will find the firmware version 3.9, just select that and continue with the flashing.
once done reinstall the RR and test it out. If the RAP works like it should then there is no other action you need to take besides reinstall the radio. If the RAP is still not working please let me know.

Re: 2008 Jeep WK
Tried the firmware you listed, still shuts off right away. dash is set for 5 min. re plugged in factory radio to make sure, it works as intended.
another thing that is annoying the crap out of me, i want to be able to program the steering wheel buttons to move up and down among my preset stations. not scan for stations. i have my presets, thats what i want to listen to.
and 1 more:) it can tell me what door is open, what tire is low, read how much boost. but it can't read trouble codes?

Re: 2008 Jeep WK
As for the steering wheel controls, there is a setting in the radio called 'preset mode'. Changing that changes how the radio seeks; it's a Kenwood thing.
As for the RAP, I will have to keep digging with the engineer.
Check engine trouble codes are only accessible when there is an active check engine light. If you don't have an active check engine light, the menu will be gray, until you get one; Then it will light up orange and allow you to go into it.

Re: 2008 Jeep WK
It was not in the settings anywhere, but on the main radio screen, at the top there was an icon. pressing it cycled from Auto1, Auto2 and Manual. Auto2 is the one that i needed.
Hopefully the power option can be fixed in a timely manner, last time i put it back in i forgot to hook up the mic. but it is such a nightmare trying to tuck all the cables back and fit the unit i am waiting for your fix, ill live with out the mic until then, its that much of a pain.

If you look at the vehicle info screen, does it show the correct status when you open and close the doors?
Our office is closed through Christmas and New year's, which means that our engineers are out. They return on January 7th. I have made a ticket asking them to look into it. I will update here when I have more info or if they have further questions.

No update yet, but we are working on it. I promise we haven't forgotten about you. I will let you know as soon as I have something (the engineer that coded this is on vacation and doesn't return until the 28th).
