JEEP GRAND 2012 with NEW PIONEER y/2018

Post by gregmortar » Tue Dec 04, 2018 7:31 am

Hello, I have 2 JEEPs: Grand Cherokee 2012 S-Limited and Grand Cherokee 2006 Laredo. I have installed the newest flagship Pioneer AVH-Z9100DAB (european version). I would love to be able to display the vehicle info and gauges on my radio. I see the datalink port on the back side of the radio.
I bought 2 maestro RR modules on amazon. I thought, I choose similiar radio from the list and it will work.
Unfortunately during the flash process on the site you ask me for serial number.
Is there any chance to add my serial numbers to existing radios ex. AVH-W4201NEX?

Thank you

That is not an iDatalink port. Because we don't have a partnership with Pioneer Europe, the radio firmware in the AVH-Z9100DAB doesn't even have the possibility of the vehicle information screens, so this would not work. In order to get these features, you would have to use one of the radios listed here: http://maestro.idatalink.com/compatible-radios

Thank you for quick response. I've just bought 2 maestro modules so I can't give up so quickly ;)

This port on the back of the european radios is for the Vehicle Bus adapter. Data cable from maestro perfectly fits. There is a topic in the radio manual "Vehicle equipment information Using the Vehicle Bus adapter" incl. parking assist screen,...

Can I use the Maestro RR as the can-bus adapter only?
All I need is flash my module and start testing :)

While everything looks like it will work the coding is completely different. Maestro will not work because our engineers haven't seen the radio to know what is going on from a coding prespective. There are other companies in the european market that may have something that works with this particular radio i.e Connects2 would be a good starting point to look into. Or maybe give Pioneer Europe a call to see who their data partner is.
