With much trial and error, I got my Kenwood DDX393 installed in my 2018 Nissan Frontier. SW controls finally work, but now on almost every startup, the gauges come up.
Now, I cannot get the OBD2 to work in this vehicle, so therefore the gauges show nothing, but they still come up on bootup. Is there any way to turn this off until I'm able to figure out the OBD2 issue?

Re: Gauges coming on at every bootup
If you are unable to get the OBD2 to read, I suspect that the RR isn't getting signal from the OBD2, so it's causing an error page to pop up on start-up. You either have the wrong wires hooked to the OBD2, your can H and L wires are flipped, or you have a poor connection.
If you are using any kind of t-tap, scotch lock, etc on the OBD2, REMOVE IT and make a direct wire to wire connection. This can cause a poor connection, resulting in the gauges not working and error messages. See the image below that shows how to do a solid connection using just the wires.

I noticed a few problems with your wiring from the picture in your other post. You are using the wrong wires from the Maestro. You need Brown with a red stripe, and brown with a yellow stripe. Right now you are using yellow/brown and red/brown. So make sure you also fix that when you get back to the vehicle tonight.

Ohhh....ok. This makes sense, I may have gotten the wire colors backward.
Thank you so much for helping me figure this out. I will post back my results.

Having two threads for the same vehicle causes confusion and redundancy, so let's do the rest of the troubleshooting on this thread: viewtopic.php?f=318&t=18712
