Maestro SW firmware for 2017 Mercedes Sprinter

Post by kdeslo » Fri Nov 23, 2018 12:51 pm

Is there firmware available, or can it be created for a 2017 Mercedes Sprinter?

Can I try to generate firmware based on resistance measurements, or is there some other reason that SW buttons on a Mercedes don't work with the Maestro?

you can look to see if you can get the analog steering wheel control wires at the steering column. If you can, great, you can write down the resistances and make a custom firmware for your SW. many car companies are making things more difficult and making the signals coming from the steering wheel digital so you may run into that. another thing to look out for is if the steering wheel controls double as controls for a display in the instrument cluster. if so there would be no way for the vehicle to know if you are using the controls for the radio or the instrument cluster.

Thanks, that could be a problem. Some buttons are dedicated to the phone functions, but others change the computer instrumentation settings. :x
