2008 Toyota Tacoma with Kenwood DDX9704S

Post by billyb » Thu Nov 15, 2018 7:53 pm

I believe I have a non JBL factory stereo. I purchased a Kenwood DDX9704S a Maestro RR and a Maestro TO1 (HRN-RR-T01). I believed that it would be essentially plug and play, but my factory stereo has 4 connectors and I cannot find any connectors that fit two of the factory harness connectors. The harness for the Maestro TO1 has connectors that fit two of the factory harness connectors. Is the installation really going to require crimping a large number of wires to the harness off of the Kenwood?

I'm wondering if I got the right parts or if there is another harness adapter. Does anyone know of any videos of an installation?

Yes, you must connect the TO1's harness to the kenwood. You'll have to do this kind of wiring no matter what radio/interface you purchase. We don't have a way of pre-wiring that for you because, when we package the TO1 at the factory, we don't know specifically what Toyota vehicle it's going into, or what radio you will install with it.

You may have some plugs left over in the dash; they are likely not required to make the new radio function.
