Does Maestro SW Retain Factory Chime?

Post by grnphrog » Tue Oct 30, 2018 5:58 am

Just like the Subject says, i'm would like to know if I will still have my factory chimes. Example would be when i have my door open, i get a ding-ding-ding, or when i have low gas, or forgot to put on my seatbelt, i get an audible warning. My other SWI that i used in my old radio had an external speaker that plugged into the SWI unit to provide this. I dont see that option with Maestro SW.
Thanks for any input.

What kind of vehicle do you have?

The Maestro SW is just a steering wheel control piece; it does not do chime, but if you tell me what kind of vehicle you have, I might be able to recommend a better solution for you.

Thank you for the fast reply, I have a 2005 GMC Yukon SLT.
I'm installing a Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX.

So in this vehicle you are going to need a interface module as well as the MSW to handle all the chimes similar to your last vehicle.

Are you referring to the 'Plug & Play' installation harness for select General Motors vehicles. Such as the GM2 through GM5+?
I tried looking through your website and that is all i could find for any interface modules, but the above products dont cover any years below 2007 :(
What part number are you thinking will help with this?
Thank you for your help.

We do not make an interface for your specific vehicle, so you would have to use another brand of interface to retain your chimes.
