Invalid Serial for Pioneer SPA-DA230DAB

Post by Sugarlump » Fri Oct 26, 2018 1:59 pm

Hi, I am trying to flash my RR maestro in order to work with Subaru Outback 2010 and currently stuck with "Invalid serial number" error when selected Pioneer NEX-2300 (called SPH-DA230DAB in EU https://www.pioneer-car.eu/eur/products/sph-da230dab)

Can you please advise how to manually flash Serial # which is QKTM006476EW?
Tried all combinations - numbers only, etc. so far no luck to get it work.

Thank you,
Peter

the radio is not supported for full functionaility of the MRR. We currently support only radios intended for the North American market. you can try flashing the MRR as a "2009 and up w/BT" radio but that will just give you navi outputs and SWC if it does work.

Thank you, will try this, btw. is there any other way how to add my serial to DB just to get over this validation step?

I believe those SN are the same format, unit was produced in US, just sold under different model #..

Also, I am not sure if you understood me correctly, this radio is supported as this is model listed in your dropdown, thing is that your web says the serial is invalid, which isn't. It's just not in your database.
I believe can be custom added as I saw it on the forum already mentioned.

Can you pls send me firmware I will be able to flash? One with already pre-filled serial # or save it under my profile as my favourite or anything in order to proceed further with setup? Otherways this MRR is quite expensive "brick" and what you claim on your web is simply not true.

BR, Peter

No no I competely understood you. The radio is manufactuered for the European market and does not support Maestro functionality. This is why on the radios box you don't see the "iDatalink Maestro Compatible" logo and also you dont have the "iDatalink I/F" input on the back of the radio. And like I previous mentioned the MRR can be flashed as a "2009 and Up w/BT" radio which will give you, reverse, parking brake, Acc, and steering wheel controls.

I am fine with limited features but how can I flash it when it asks for serial number input which is shown as invalid and I cannot proceed?

As Justin said, you cannot choose your actual radio model. It will not work with European models, because our partnership is only with Pioneer North America. This means that there is no iDatalink firmware on European radios, so we have no way of communicating with them. This is why your serial number is not in our system and will not work. Unfortunately, there is no firmware that is able to work with this radio right now, so you would either have to change to a truly idatalink compatible radio (one of the radios listed here: http://maestro.idatalink.com/compatible-radios ) or use a different interface company.
