2012 Honda Civic Si Bluetooth buttons not working

Post by thoma015 » Sat Oct 20, 2018 7:05 pm

I cant get my bluetooth buttons to work (answer, hang up, voice commands). The other steering wheel controls like volume up and down all work fine. When i was trying to flash the module the bluetooth buttons were prefilled and grayed out. What am i missing? Does this work on my 2012 Honda Civic Si w/o nav?

It's set to control the OEM bluetooth by default, which is why you couldn't program them. If you want to have those buttons control the new radio, you must uncheck the OEM bluetooth option, and then it will unlock those buttons and allow them to control the aftermarket radio.

The wiring is different depending on which way you're trying to do it. Do you want to use OEM or aftermarket bluetooth? If you let me know which way you're trying to go, we can go over your wiring and make sure it's right for your specific install type.

Currently I have it wired to use the OEM Bluetooth but the buttons done work. I'll prob wire it up to use the new radio but I have a feeling it still won't work. I know that I have to connect the orange and red wire to pin 15 of the OEM Bluetooth harness.

OK, so let's decide which way you want to do it for sure. The flash and the wiring have to match for the install type you want or it won't work correctly. This situation would best be done over the phone on our tech support line. When you are able to go over wiring and do some troubleshooting with us, please give us a call at the tech line in my signature. We're here Mon-Fri, 8:30AM-8:30PM EST.

Make sure that you're using the guide on page 86. Make sure you have the bluetooth module unplugged, the orange/red wire connected at the bluetooth module, and that you have the OEM bluetooth unchecked in the flash. Once that is hooked up, the light on the maestro should give you a blink when you press on hook, off hook, or voice, the light on the RR should blink to show you that it sees you pressing those buttons.
