2018 JK Transmission Temp, Kenwood edition

Post by JetTech » Sat Oct 06, 2018 8:31 pm

Hello all! I previously had a Pioneer AVH-4200NEX installed with a Maestro RR. Everything worked as advertised including the transmission temp display. Last week I installed a Kenwood DNX874S because I wanted built in Garmin based nav. Lovin the Kenwood even more. However, everything works great, minus transmission temp readout. I read the thread posted here previously and went to flash by user but it shows my RR firmware is up to date. Recently did the Kenwood firmware update with no change. Also re-flashed the RR, no luck. Why would Pioneer read temps but Kenwood not? Any other ideas?? Thanks!

It shouldn't make a difference what radio you use, since all the idatalink radios support the same gauges, and the information is coming from your vehicle. I recommend going into the OEM Setup of the radio, under the Gauges Setup, and selecting "Validate PIDs". This may allow that gauge to come through. Another thing you can try is resetting the maestro through your OEM Settings in the radio, which should yield the same result as validating the PIDs.
