2016 Prius JBL amp+Nav w/ Alpine iLX-F309E

Post by jerryxsara » Tue Sep 25, 2018 12:20 am

Hello,

My 2016 Prius gen 4 is in Taiwan which is equipped with JBL amp and Navigation system, and I'm thinking to purchase Maestro RR+ T02+ UT02 for Alpine iLX-F309E(Alpine model in Taiwan) to replace my factory HU. I have some competibility questions below since I don't know if this will work here.

1. Is the S/N of iLX-F309E eligible for flashing?
2. Is Prius gen 4 European model competible with Maestro RR+T02? (Toyota imported European model to Taiwan)
3. Radio antenna adapter, GPS antenna adapter, Microphone adapter are not included in T02 right?

Thanks!

Because we are a North American company, we are only able to cover North American vehicles and radios. We don't have a way to test it to make sure our firmware will work, or test if anything goes wrong.

1. No. That is not a North American Alpine model, so it will not work.
2. See above.
3. None of those come with the TO2.

Thanks Dara!

Hope one day ADS Maestro products will have wider coverage for the models of other countries.

I will try to buy Alpine iLX-F309 from Amazon to flash Maestro Rr, my question is that if I don’t connect OBD II to vehicle then I will just not be able to use Gauge functions, but the factory amp and SWI will still work right?

How about vehicle setting?

As I know that OBD II connector on 2016 Prius gen 4 is near the E-Brake, it might be too far from the dash, if the connector be in the dash area then will be easier,

Thanks!

You will not have gauges, but you will miss some other functions too, like the output for your reverse signal and parking brake. I recommend extending the wires and making sure it connects, if you need to.

If the output of the reverse signal is missing then will it causes no reverse camera image? I thought it can be triggered by reverse light (+) and switching to the camera image.

So, reverse signal and parking brake signal are through OBDII but not the vehicle connector.

I checked the wiring diagram and some model doesn’t need to use OBDII connection, then I thought the reverse signal and parking brake signal are like traditional way.

Hi Dara,

I’m not sure if my post is submitted so, I post the question again.

I got my Rr and with an English laptop now is no problem to detect it. Before purchase F309 then I would like to make sure 2016 Prius w/ JBL amp can be covered.

When I use the WebLink DEMO, the factory amplifier option didn’t show up, but I tried to select 2015 Prius then the factory amplifier option is available. Should I use 2015 Prius to flash the firmware or wait for your update to support 2016 Prius?

Thanks!

We definitely retain the factory amplifier in that car. The site will be fixed today.

Thanks Dara.

That’s awesome!

Currently only 3 items in the list by the WebLink DEMO, Gaiges /car info/steering wheel control.
