08 Tundra Reverse Camera Hookup

Post by liljoea2002 » Mon May 28, 2018 1:00 am

Does anyone have pics of the wires needed to be spliced into for the factory back up camera to work with the TO1?

Unfortunately, we don't have any pictures of the plug other than what is shown in the guide. If you're having issues locating them, please give us a call on our support line when you're in the truck and we can help locate them.

Too bad Dara couldn’t post the answer here, I am also having trouble finding the 24 pin connector with the camera wiring. I have a 2010Tundra. Can someone help me find it?

Thank you

It should be relatively easy to find with process of elimination. It will be in the radio cavity, there won't be any plugs connecting to it, and you will have 4 wires in a row that match the colors in our guide.
Pin 21 - Shield
22 - Red
23 - Shield
24 - Black

I am still not having any luck with locating the wiring/harness. The guide states there is a 24pin connector which I cannot find. I am alternately searching for a black, red, and two shield color wires that are in a row, but I’m not sure what shield color is, so that is not working either.

My truck is a 2010 with JBL and no nav. The monitor in the rear view mirror is still functioning. Should I find the wires in the A Pillar, cut them and run this back to the HU?

Sorry for the lame questions and thanks for any help.

The easiest thing would be to locate that plug in the truck. Just to be sure- did the camera originally show on the radio? Or did it show on an external screen up in the headliner? If it didn't show on the OEM radio, that plug will not be present in the radio cavity.

The OEM camera displayed in the rear view mirror, so I guess I should quit looking in the radio cavity. I can probably snip the wires in the A pillar and run them back to the head unit, or actually, back to the Maestro harness.

If you want the camera on the radio, all you need to do is take a long RCA and splice it into the video wires at the camera display. Run that down to the radio and plug it in. Otherwise, it will continue to work on the original screen, so this step isn't necessary unless you really want to do it.
