Using HC2 on older vehicles or non listed vehicles

Post by Krisztian » Fri Sep 01, 2017 2:13 pm

Hello,

I was wondering if you need to use the HC2 HC2352AC and HC2351AC on older vehicles that are not listed on the iDatalink website, where can the output and input of the module can be found? So when it comes to instal
new or technicians with less experience instaling these products can find/know each wire coming out from the module is doing what? And If there is a difrent firmware that need to be used or is the same all the time?
I think many people are asking same question and would help some saving a lot of time. And maibe having it posted somwhere handy would help in future to.

Thank You!
Best Regards

You can use the HC as a standard starter with analog outputs only. When you go to www.idatalink.com, hit flash your module. When it starts to redirect you, hit cancel. Then go to flash by firmware and choose HC-X.

Something to remember, if a car is not listed, that means it's not covered. There are a lot of vehicles with immobilizers that require using a key in a box type solution or newer cars that we simply do not cover. Not covered, is not covered.

Thank you for the reply!
It comes handy!
Personaly I have a customer wit a 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis,v8 5.0 engine. And another customer with a 1988 3 series BMW. Both automatic transsmision and no chip in the key and they love the HC2 systems because I instaled on the newer cars they have.
