2012 Tundra RR/T01 rear camera integration

Post by MileHighElement »

Hello. I just purchased the Maestro RR with the T01 Harness for my 2012 Tundra Crewmax and I have a few questions about the integration. I am connecting the Maestro to a Kenwood DDX9703s and I think I have everything correct except the rear camera. My Tundra has the rear view mirror display for the rear camera, I was wondering if you have come across a way to connect the video of the rear camera to the radio. I noticed there is an oem connector that does not connect to the T01 harness and was wondering if the camera is located in that or will I have to run a wire to another location. Thanks.

Because the camera is on the rear-view mirror, the wiring does not run down to the radio cavity. You could splice into the video signal at the mirror and run it down to the radio if you wanted it to display there.

I'm doing the same thing with the exact truck, the only difference is my Kenwood is the DDX-8906S. Is there a way to keep the OEM camera displaying on the rear view mirror or do I have to create a splice for it to display on the radio? There is one small 4 wire plug that's not connected to anything now that the T01 is all plugged in. Is that the camera harness?

Same answer as above.

The yellow, brown, black, and blue/yellow wires in the TO1 are only needed when you have a camera that displayed on the OEM radio. There is no need to do anything with them in your case.
