Alpine iLX-207 Setup Greyed Out

Post by mike812 » Sat Feb 10, 2018 1:59 pm

Currently not able to get into Setup after connecting everything. Seems the system thinks the truck is not in park. I have the light green wire from the TO harness connected yellow/blue according to the radio wire reference chart and the Alpine manual. Same behavior when I activate the parking break. Any suggestions as to what the issue could be?

Also not getting the backup camera to turn on when in reverse. Thinking it may have to do with current settings on the head unit.

FYI, I had this Maestro RR connected with this harness to a Pioneer AVIC-4100 and everything worked fine. I have reflashed the RR for the new head unit.

Thanks,
Mike

Do your steering wheel controls work? Are you able to see the gauges/vehicle info screens?

Have you tried putting your brake on/off multiple times, and then leaving it on? Generally, Alpine radios need multiple pulses for the menu bypass to occur.

Yes, steering wheel controls work as expected and I see gauge information on the HU. I have tried enraged/disengaging the parking brake MANY times and left to on for 10-20 seconds. I pulled the Maestro RR out and reflashed it as well to see if that would help, no go.

I’ll try engaging the parking brake and leaving it engaged for a longer period of time this afternoon. That’s really all I have not done.

Our outputs should work the same, regardless of the radio that you have. So if it worked with your last radio, it should work with the alpine. If you meter our light green wire, what does it do when you put the parking brake on?

Just to make sure we're both on the same page- to be able to get into the menus, the parking brake has to stay engaged (it's a safety thing).

Understand the brake needs to stay engaged to use the menu. After 10-20 seconds I’d expect it to be available though, that’s why I dis-engaged and tried again.

I do not have a voltage meter if that is what you are referring to.

Yes, I am. We need to see if the parking brake circuit on the RR is working as it should. Does your radio have a yellow/black wire for foot brake?

No it does not, just yellow/blue for parking brake.

Then, at that point, the only other thing to do is meter the light green wire and ensure that it is working as it should. If it is, then the maestro is not the issue.

OK, I’ll need to go buy one to check that. Thanks
