Well, I found the page in the Alpine that shows the Maestro and it says the amp is connected but there is no sound. I got a second opinion on this and the bottom line is that the Maestro RR is not controlling the amplifier. There is nothing wrong with the amplifier as it works fine with the factory head unit.

Going to have to bypass the amp, which isn't that big of a deal. The problem that I have is that Crutchfield and datalink tout the ability to retain the factory amplifier when in fact this may or may not be the case depending on the specific head unit and amplifier installed in that particular vehicle. :(

Did you try to use the 'amp on' button in the debug screen of the alpine menu? That's the one last thing that we didn't try on the phone yesterday.

Yesterday, the installer stated that there was no way to verify that the amplifier was still working.... That you removed the OEM Nav system and now it won't power back up to test the amp. We checked every other possibility, except trying to force the amp on in the Maestro's Diagnostic menu inside the Alpine.

Thank you for the reply Dara. I will try to contact the installer this morning and pass along your suggestion.

Regarding the amplifier being functional, I think it is too convenient for yourself and Crutchfield to say the amp is defective. That amp worked perfectly fine with the original head unit which no longer works, thus the reason to purchase the Alpine ILX-207 and suggested Maestro RR and T01 harness to retain my cars factory steering wheel controls, back-up camera and amplifier. Your part of the system works great for the two aforementioned items but DOES NOT WORK WITH THE FACTORY AMP, therefore I cannot be satisfied with this system as it does not work as sold and intended.

If you go into the OEM Settings in the radio, there should be an amplifier menu. Can you get into that? If so, what is the gain currently set to?Are you able to change the gain?
