2015 GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali w/ Bose Premium

Post by FlamaBlanco »

Only replacing Head Unit with Pioneer AVIC-8400NEX
I would like to retain the Bose Amp System, and OEM integration.

What all do I need? I am getting way too many different answers with the main one being it can’t happen.

Let me know

Thanks

We can replace the radio and retain factory features, but there is nothing we can do to retain the Bose audio systems in those. The factory amplifier would need to be bypassed

Would adding the Alpine KCX-BOSE-GM module work with my Pioneer unit, along with RR and GM3?

Yes you could use the KCX-BOSE-GM to retain the OEM amplifier in conjunction with the MRR and GM3 harness.

Anyone experience the sound of bypassing the BOSE amplifier without adding an aftermarket Amp? Or do you have to add an Amp if bypassing?

You are going to need something whether it be the internal amplifier in the new headunit or a external amplifier to power the speakers. just be caustious on how many speakers are in the car because that is going to determine how many channels of amplification you are going to need.

I just did this on my 15 high country 2500 sAme radio. You need a amp bypass harness and use a 4 channel amp with bass blockers for the tweeters. Or u can use the alpine adapter at $400. Right now i lost park assist and idatalink is not setting some of my trucks features.
