Rear camera, cross traffic alerts and outside temperature

Post by pcwhiz »

Installed a Kenwood DMX9706S in a 2017 Chevy Traverse using the RR and GM5+ harness. Everything went well overall. I do have a couple comments/issues.
With the factory headend, there was a delay when shifting from reverse to drive when you could continue to see the camera view for several seconds before it would switch off. The new setup has no delay - is there a way to adjust this?
While backing up, I get the proximity alerts, but I no longer seem to be getting the cross traffic alerts for vehicles approaching from either side in the blind spot. Is this normal behavior or is there something I need to adjust?
The factory headend showed outside temperature on the screen. The Kenwood has the ability to show climate information, but it is greyed out. Any ideas?

Thanks!

We'll start with the easy stuff.
1- if it is supported by the radio you can go into the advanced camera features menu in the maestro settings page and turn the reverse delay on. (Settings>AV>OEM SETUP>Vehicle Features>Camera Controls)
2- outside temperature can be set as one of the gauges on the gauge page if the info is on the data lines
3- Climate control info is not supported on the GM5 platform
4- We will dig a little deeper with the cross traffic chimes with engineering to see what could be happening there.
