2007 Chevy Tahoe no factory XM radio audio.

Post by visionsofsmooth »

I just recently installed a Pioneer AVH 4200NEX with the Idatalink maestro rr. Everything works great except for my factory xm radio. I can see the channels on the screen but there is no sound. I see from the directions that their is an audio cable that plugs in the back of the module to the back of the cd player. But I don't have that cable could that be the problem?

YES. The audio cable is what sends the audio for XM. It should have come in the black box with the maestro RR. It is an all black cable, with three pins on one end and a 3.5mm plug on the other.

I have no idea where it is. I called the audio place where I had it installed but they say they haven't seen it and they put everything that wasn't used back in my truck. Is there somewhere I can get a replacement audio cable from?

We sell replacement cables for $12 USD, shipping included. If you want to go ahead with the order, let me know and I will email an invoice to you. Once it's paid, I will ship the cable.

I'm an admin so I already have your email address. I was just going to send the invoice to the same email that you're using for our forum.

I am in the same boat...

Everything works. XM is on the screen, but no audio. Sounds like I have also missed connecting the 3.5mm cable.

2 questions:

1- Does it just go in the Auxiliary jack, and if so, can I not use an Aux cable as well?

2- Is the below picture the cord I should be using? It sounds similar to what has been said, but mine is 4 pin with an 3.5mm and a lone blue wire.

That blue cable isn't what you should be using. Look at the RR; next to the blue port (at the very end) is where your audio cable plugs in. It is ALL BLACK (no blue connector on it, no stray wire), 3 pin on one side, and a 3.5mm on the other end.

Yes, it goes to the aux port, but the connector on the RR is not a regular aux plug.

Do you have a picture of this cord? I don't see it with the extra stuff I had besides the one posted. I suppose it could be back there and in the wrong spot, but I don't want to open it all up again unless i Know I'll be solving the problem!

Thanks!

Thank you. It must be back there and in the wrong spot.

Can I use a "Y" splitter so that I can still use the headphone jack for auxiliary input?

That's not the best idea. I recommend using AV-In for your Aux.
