Ac won't cool only heat

Postby Cjvarela9 » Tue Aug 08, 2017 2:07 pm

Turned on my Ford F-150 and it was only blowing really hot air despite the screen saying the temperature is on min. I took the truck to the dealership and they said nothing was wrong with the ac and that it was the module that was messing up the ac. I reset the module multiple times but it is still only blowing hot air.

Do you get any error messages on the radio screen when the radio powers up?

Are you able to control the climate with the buttons on the dash kit or on the radio screen?

Does the dash kit light up (it should be backlit when the truck is on) ?

Even with the fan at minimum, does the air continue to blow full blast?

It seems like the data communication between the truck and the maestro isn't happening. Do the steering wheel controls work?

It sounds like the climate controls are not communicating on the data lines. Since the steering wheel controls are working, and resetting the RR doesn't change anything, this leads me to think it might be a blown fuse in the truck. Have you tried putting the OEM radio back in to see if the climate controls work with that instead?

One that could be blown is fuse #9 (10A) in the passenger kick panel. It could also be the fuse for the compressor or for the controller.

There is a 1 year manufacturer's warranty on our products. Based on how the RR is acting, I don't think it's defective. I'm more inclined to think there's a blown fuse or something else is going on. If you need to have any parts warrantied, see the dealer where you purchased your product.
