2011 Camaro Support: Maestro RR

Post by infernoSS » Thu Sep 05, 2013 10:27 pm

I have a 2011 Camaro SS and have been waiting months when I first heard this was coming out. Many aftermarket double din kits for the Camaro have come and gone and scosche finally updated theirs. Anyway I decided to check the idatalink website and see if the maestro rr was finished for GM. But the Camaro isn't showing to be supported, what gives? One of the most popular muscle cars on the market. I already have a Kenwood DNX690HD that I originally had in a 07 F-150 which I sold and kept the stereo. Please don't leave us Camaro owners out to dry. Could I use a mestro rr that is supported for a Chevy?

The current GM05 is a comptely different harness than your car. That is why it is not supported yet. Though the Camaro may be a popular car the wiring is different than most GMs. We cover the bulk of the popular models with GM05. We are working on other solutions but at this time your vehicle is not covered.

Is there any time frame of when it will be covered?

idatalink is the only company that I have found making this type of interface technology and even though you have to have a certain brand stereo(Kenwood), the market is out there. I know I want it so idatalink please build it.

Don't worry. It is in the roadmap. However, please understand that making a complete dash kit solution that includes interface and plastic tooling does not happen overnight. We are just now starting to get our Mustang solution into the warehouse..

Thanks for your support.

What about just making the maestro RR interface, leave the dash kit to the ones that are already built. Already going to use Scosches newest dash kit. Could a current build of your GM Maestro be wired?

No sir it can not. The harnesses in the Camaro are completely different that the GM05 vehicles.

Hello,
Any word on Camaro support? I have a 2014 2LS without amplifier and would love to install the maestro in my car. The last update for Camaro support was 6mos. ago.

Is there any update about these cars? This is an amazing product. I had one that I installed in an 05 dodge magnum and was blown away with what it could do. I absolutely love the FLCAN integration parts for remote starts. They work seamlessly every time. I imagine that The Camaro kit will be similar to the Mustang kit.

Is there a rough release date? I'm trying to decide wither to tell my customers to buy the metra or schosche kits or wait for Idatalink. They will probably wait a few months but they probably wont want to wait 2 years. On a side note if you guys need a car to test the system on, I have a 2010 2ss with the boston acoustic system if that would help you through beta testing.

We don't have anything set in stone for a release date at this time. This solution will require manufacturing an entirely new firmware and t-harness, and it's a pretty time-consuming process, as Mark said. I can tell you that it probably will not be released within the next couple of months, for what that's worth. I'm sorry I don't have more information for you right now, but hopefully that helps a little.

I'm afraid to ask again. Has there been any progress on the Camaro kit I heard a rumor that the project was scrapped.
