2012 Expediton backup camera

Post by mikefxst »

I have a 2012 Expedition with Syc and im connecting a Pioneer DMH-1500-NEX and im trying to understand how to activate the backup camera. Assuming i have everything wired correctly. All other functions appear to be working correctly as far as SWC bluetooth and sync. How do i activate the back up camera to display on the radio. Or Do i have more wiring to do as far as i understood from your website all fucntions would be available with the Maestro RR and the F01 wire harness installed?

That is not an application where we provide wiring for the factory camera retention. The camera will still function and turn on, but you will need to hardwire the video connection to it, either in the harness going to the rearview mirror or the connector that went to the factory navigation radio, whichever place it was originally displayed.

Might want to update your website then cause it makes it appear that the DMH1500 has a lot more functions then just a steering wheel control retainer. There are other companies that do the same for cheaper. This unit kicked my Air Bag light and i also have no Rear Seat Entertainment. All so i can have a nicer radio kind of stupid on my part to make that purchase. Guess ill return the stuff to Crutchfield. Thanks for your help.

Interestingly, I have a 2013 Ford Expedition (backup camera, no nav) with the same Pioneer DMH-1500NEX radio that has sync and the idatalink connection. Entering this information into the Maestro website https://maestro.idatalink.com/product/p ... uct_id/102 returns results that do not include "Camera Features: Dynamic Parking Guideline Overlay". In fact, I tried several radios, using different brands/models, and none of them returned the ability to provide the 'Dynamic Parking Guideline Overlay'. Is this feature even available for the Maestro ADS MRR?

Dynamic Parking Lines are only supported on Kenwood and JVC radios

Does the screen back light and not show video, or is it not turning on at all? That wasn't real clear in your saying you dont have rear seat entertainment.

Re: 2012 Expedition Factory controls not retained

Post by mikefxst »

Ok let me clarify. I guess my rear camera isnt supported as i only get a black screen and the camera screen is still maintained in the rear view mirror. I cant get SYNC to work at all. I can get phone to work over bluetooth of the radio for calls and to bluetooth audio. I cant get SYNC to work. It will say paired in then 2 seconds later it drops the connection. Im not worried about that as much being the system came with a mic and i put that in and as stated earlier i can use that for my phone calls. The other issues im having are as follows. Left side steering wheel controls for Cruise Control are not functioning at all. And my rear seat entertainment which is the headphone/ tuner system for rear passengers is also not turning on. Any help appreciated. Thanks!!!
