2013 Ford f150 oem features

Post by Jstasik »

I need help. I have a 2013 ford f150 with the basic sync system. I installed a kenwood ddx376bt with the maestro rr. Everything works except anything related to the truck (OEM features, gauges, sync, steering wheel controls..). They seem to work for a few minutes or for a few second. I also noticed that when in any screen related to the truck, the sync display doesn't update the FM AM station until the failure occurs. I have verified all systems are up to date. Another note is the led on the maestro blinks green once right at the moment of failure. I have replaced the radio with another new one, replaced the maestro box, reprogrammed to another vehicle then back to mine.

I think I spoke with you about this earlier on the phone. Did replacing the button pad in the steering wheel fix your issue?

Nope unfortunately no change. To me it looks like for some reason the box is rebooting. The only time I see the led light green as long as it does when this happens, is when I recycle power to the box via the connector with the black red yellow wires

I monitored all voltages and put a scope on the can bus. I seen no abnormal voltages or glitches in the bus. Could this be a firmware issue? All functions related to the maestro rr are being lost,

What are we getting for voltage on the yellow and red wires in the 3 pin main power connector with the larger gauges red, yellow, and black wires in it?

Battery voltage 13.8 14 volts when running. This doesn't change when the issue appears. That was my initial thought was there was a voltage drop or spike.

Could this be related to the firmware?

I will get with our engineers and see if they have any ideas. This is an odd one for sure. In your swapping things out, did the wiring harness itself ever get replaced? I know you said that you already replaced pretty much everything else.

Please let me know if there is any updates or what the engineers suggest

Thanks

We could try having you move the MSCAN wires from the 16 pin plug down to pins 3 and 11 at the obd 2 connector. The module looks like it is resetting almost, by what the LED is doing and when. Here is a diagram of what would be done and where if you are willing to try.

I just want to be sure before cutting wires. You want me to take the brown red on the 16 pin to pin 3 on the obd2 and the brown yellow to pin 11? Removing it from the 16 pin connector and going from the maestro rr direct to the obd2.
Am I also leaving the red brown and yellow brown on the obd2 (original obd2 wires) connected?
