2007 Chevy Cobalt SS Module not working!

Post by bloodstorm666 »

Alright, so im pretty good at working on cars and electronics, but this has me stumped. I flashed it correctly and hooked it up according to the diagram. Red wire to pioneer power, black to the ground, and the 2 wires needed for the controls to the stock car harness. Unit blinks when it gets power and then shuts off, controls do not even work. I'd also like to add im using T-taps. Please help!!

Power and ground appear to be ok, if it's flashing once with ignition turned on. Not flashing with button presses means we have a connection issue, steering wheel controls don't work with the factory radio, or are on the wrong wires.

The T taps have to go, though, as they have no place in a resistance-based circuit where they can add resistance. You will want to military splice or poke and wrap at minimum, then solder if you choose.

I forgot to add that sometimes when i turn the ignition and radio on, my volume constantly goes up. Ok, i will remove all the T-taps and splice them and solder.

UPDATE: I just "military spliced" all my wiring and the unit still fails to work. I triple checked the diagram and made sure i spliced into the correct ones.

I got it working! Apparently i tapped into the wrong wire....I was going off of the color that the diagram told me to do, but the color given was wrong. Told me to tap into dark green wire, but it was a blue wire on pin 14 that did it. I feel like an idiot now haha

Don't these vehicle manufacturers change wire colors all the time after they document what it was originally. might have ran out of a color that day. Glad you got it squared away
