2015 Forester bluetooth model

Post by sax1964 »

Just replaced my factory stereo with a Pioneer AVH 2300 NEX. This is a 2015 Forester bluetooth model. I flashed Maestro with the firmware they recommended. I also flashed firmware on the head unit to the latest. All connections are good with the SU1 harness. When I put camera in reverse I just get a black screen on the Pioneer head unit. The factory camera still works on the small factory screen. I do have the harness connected to the secondary screen. Everything else seems to work, but the camera on the Head unit does not. I need help please. Thanks

You have to use connector D as illustrated in the installation guide in step 2

If it still displaying in the secondary screen then connector D isn't being used or we dont have everything like the guide shows. also verify that the OBD2 connector is plugged in all the way and the vehicle is running when testing.

Thanks for the response, the connector D is connected to the secondary display. The yellow input for camera is connected to head unit and red connector is connected. I tested voltage and I am only getting about 4.58 volts. I am not sure if it will be enough for the camera. I did read that the factory cameras used 6 volts instead of 12v.I have the latest firmware in the maestro. All data works just fine I just can't get the camera to work on my head unit. I know the head unit works because I had a camera on it in my other car.

temporarily connect 12v to the wire that you are getting 4.58V on and see if the camera kicks on then. if it does you may need to add a 12v to 6v step down to get the correct voltage and amperage to power the camera on. Some of the Subaru cameras are power hungry and need more amperage to turn on.Here is a piece I use to achieve this
