Mictosoft Edge Browser Issues

Post by JCStone »

hello I am currently using a Microsoft Surface Book that has the newest version of windows on it and uses Microsoft Edge as its browser I have downloaded the Web Link Updater 6.3 and I get to the point where my Maestro RR is plugged in and I click flash and it gives me a red circle that states the following

Browser error

Ensure your pc meets the following requirements:

1. Use Windows XP or later

2. Use Internet Explorer 7 or later

3. Make sure your browser is ActiveX-enabled

4. Make sure your browser is Javascript-enabled

but to my knowledge Microsoft Edge doesn't allow for javascript or active x

what can I do to get around this? very frustrated,
thank you for any help

Edge is not the same as IE; that's why it's giving you an error. In the upper right hand corner of edge, click the 3 dots. When the options menu opens, click "open with internet explorer". It will open our website in internet explorer. Close edge, log into our site on the new browser, and you should be good.

So when are you going to support Edge? Crazy that we have to use an old browser and the overhead to use it. :x

Internet explorer is still on the computer. Just go to the windows tab in the bottom left corner. Open it and search for Internet Explorer. Edge is the new default browser for Windows but IE is still on the machine.

Read this article on Edge and Internet Explorer.

How to enable and use Internet Explorer mode in the new Microsoft Edge
https://www.onmsft.com/how-to/how-to-en ... osoft-edge

Internet explorer is ONLY available from Edge "If you’re in an enterprise or business, you can enable Microsoft Edge’s Internet Explorer mode."

I also tried to install Internet Explorer on my Windows 10 64 bit laptop. It appeared to install but when I go to find / access IE it's not there.

Also it must be intermittent functionality but I was able to use Edge to access a Maestro and flash it but, I also have times when it will not connect with the same msg as the original post.

If you are flashing a Maestro product, you can use the desktop app. Go to the support tab on maestro.idatalink.com. Under support, go to support links. Then choose the app for Windows.
