Read Device EEPROM Failed

Postby northernpenguin » Sun Jul 16, 2017 4:27 pm

Hello

I'm trying to flash a Maestro ADS-MRR for a JVC KW-v830BT and have been having a devil of a time. When I can get the device to detect at all it will have a solid green light but then when I try to send firmware it just errors out with "Read Device EEPROM failed". It appears to have no firmware when I look at the summary.

Reset device with pressing program button for 10 seconds appears to have no effect. Unit just slow blinks a red light when I do that.

Starting to wonder if I have a lemon here.

A reset will not work unless it has been flashed- 1 slow red blink means that there is no firmware on the module.

That EEPROM message means that the computer/website is unable to read the RR. Do you have another PC to try, just to rule out a compatibility issue with the computer? (This is rare, but sometimes switching to a different PC gets rid of the issue.)

If not, It definitely could be a defective module. It's rare, but it does happen sometimes. If that's the case, you should be able to exchange the device under warranty from the dealer where you purchased it.
